This Privacy Policy explains what information Discount Kings ("we," "us") collects when you use discountkings.net (the "Site"), request a quote, open an account or place an order, and what we do with it. It is part of ourTerms of Service.
- We collect only what we need to answer you, quote and fill orders, manage your account and keep required records.
- We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
- Card and bank details go straight to our payment processor — we never see or store them.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

Information collected automatically
- Abuse protection. When you submit a form, request a sign-in code or check out, we store a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your IP address so we can limit repeated submissions. We do not store the IP address itself with your submission. Quote requests also record your browser type.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider processes standard request information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to deliver the Site and protect it from attacks.
Payment information
Card numbers and bank account details are entered in a secure form provided by our payment processor and are sent directly to it. They never pass through or are stored on our systems.
2. Cookies and browser storage
We use only what the Site needs to work:
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
dk_session (cookie) | Keeps you signed in to your account. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
dk_acct (cookie) | Tells the page you are signed in so it can show your account pricing. | 30 days, or until you sign out |
dk-cart (browser storage) | Remembers the items in your cart on this device. | Until you clear it |
dk-compare (browser storage) | Remembers the products you selected to compare. | Until you clear it |
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking or third-party analytics. During checkout, our payment processor may set its own cookies inside its payment form to process the payment and prevent fraud.
3. How we use information
- To respond to questions and prepare quotes.
- To process, ship, invoice and support orders, including returns and warranty claims.
- To create and manage your account, pricing level and tax-exempt status.
- To send messages about your quotes, orders and account (such as sign-in codes, confirmations and approvals).
- To send product news if you signed up for it — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To keep accounting and tax records the law requires, including exemption certificates.
- To prevent fraud and abuse and keep the Site secure.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only as needed to run the business:
- Payment processor — to take card and ACH payments and issue refunds.
- Manufacturers and carriers — your name, address and phone number when an order ships or drop-ships to you, or when a warranty claim is filed for you.
- Accounting and invoicing provider — customer, quote, invoice and payment records, and access to its customer portal if you have an account.
- Email delivery provider — to send the messages described above.
- Website hosting and storage provider — which hosts the Site and stores its data, including uploaded exemption certificates in private storage.
- Authorities or other parties — when required by law (for example tax audits), to enforce our Terms, or to protect our rights, customers or the public.
- A successor — if the business is sold or merged, customer records may transfer to the new owner, who must continue to honor this policy.
These providers may use the information only to perform services for us.
5. How long we keep it
- Order, invoice, payment and tax-exemption records: as long as tax and accounting laws require — generally at least seven years.
- Quote requests and messages: for as long as they are useful for serving you, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Account information and saved carts: until you ask us to close your account.
- Sign-in codes expire within minutes; sign-in sessions expire after 30 days.
6. Your choices and rights
- See, correct or delete. You can update your name, company and phone on your account page. To see what we hold, correct it, or delete your account and information, email or call us. We will keep only what the law requires us to keep (such as invoices).
- Marketing email. Unsubscribe with the link in any marketing email or by contacting us. We will still send messages about your orders and account.
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; signing in and account pricing will not work without them. Clearing your browser's site data empties the cart and compare list stored on your device.
- State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — for example to know what personal information we collect and to have it deleted. We honor these requests from any customer and will not treat you differently for making one. We verify requests using the email address on your account or order.
7. Security
The Site is served only over encrypted connections. Sign-in uses one-time codes instead of stored passwords, and exemption certificates are kept in private storage that is not reachable from the public web. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Children
The Site is for business and adult customers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Where information is processed
We are located in the United States, and information is processed in the United States by us and our service providers.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Site or the law changes. We will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date.
