Overview

The SOUTHWIRE/COLEMAN CABLE L4700WD is an outdoor twist-to-lock photocell sensor designed for automatic dusk-to-dawn control of exterior lighting systems. It mounts via a NEMA locking plug configuration, engaging with a quarter-turn twist to secure the connection. The sensor includes a built-in time delay that prevents false on/off triggering from brief light fluctuations such as passing headlights or momentary cloud cover. Compatible with a wide range of lamp technologies, this unit is suited for licensed electricians installing or servicing commercial and municipal outdoor lighting circuits. CUL Listed for use in qualifying installations. The L4700WD is intended for outdoor applications including sports fields, parking lots, commercial buildings, and street lighting where NEMA locking photocell receptacles are already installed or being retrofitted. The twist-to-lock interface is the industry-standard mounting method for pole-top and wall-mount photocell sockets. This sensor supports incandescent, fluorescent, LED, halogen, mercury vapor, high-pressure sodium, and CFL lamp types, making it a practical choice for mixed-technology lighting sites or sites undergoing LED conversion.
