Overview

The UEI TEST INSTRUMENTS MCP-4 is an analog clamp-on multimeter designed for measuring AC current, AC voltage, DC voltage, and resistance on electrical and HVAC circuits. It features five AC amperage ranges spanning 0 to 300 amps, three AC voltage ranges up to 750 volts, a DC voltage range up to 75 volts, and two resistance ranges with a 30-ohm center scale. The jaw opens to 1.25 inches, accommodating standard single conductors found in residential and light commercial wiring. Accuracy is rated at plus or minus 3 percent of full scale across amps and volts ranges for load and circuit verification work. The MCP-4 is suited for use by HVAC technicians, electricians, and plumbers performing circuit diagnostics on low-voltage controls, motor circuits, line-voltage systems, and resistance checks on components such as contactors, heating elements, and motor windings. Its analog movement and multiple current ranges allow readings on both low-amp control circuits starting at the 0 to 6 amp range and high-amp load circuits up to 300 amps.
