Overview
The A-GAS AMERICAS R410A is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant blend of R32 and R125 that nearly forms an azeotrope, giving it extremely low temperature glide and minimal fractionation potential. It operates at approximately 60% higher pressure than R22 in air conditioning applications, which is why it is used exclusively in equipment engineered specifically for high-pressure refrigerant systems. HVAC technicians working on residential and light commercial cooling equipment will encounter R410A as the standard refrigerant in modern split systems and packaged units. This cylinder contains 25 pounds of R410A refrigerant. R410A is used in residential and light commercial air conditioning systems, including split-system air conditioners and heat pumps designed after the phase-down of R22. Equipment built for R410A uses smaller-displacement components such as compressors and heat exchangers to achieve the same cooling capacity as legacy R22 systems. Due to its elevated operating pressures, all system components including refrigerant hoses, manifold gauges, and recovery equipment must be rated for R410A service. Polyolester (POE) lubricant is required in all systems charged with R410A. Retrofitting existing R22 equipment with R410A is not recommended under any circumstances. Key Features Near-azeotropic blend of R32 and R125 with extremely low temperature glide Minimal fractionation potential for consistent refrigerant composition during service Operates at approximately 60%…
