The RESEARCH PRODUCTS x86wmupr is a Wi-Fi enabled, multi-stage universal thermostat designed for residential HVAC systems requiring advanced staging and indoor air quality control. It supports 2H/2C conventional heat/cool configurations or 4H/2C heat pump staging, making it adaptable to a broad range of system types. The thermostat features a capacitive touch interface with a color graphical display and supports both programmable and non-programmable operating modes. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit in applications where integrated IAQ management — including humidity and ventilation control — is part of the system design. This thermostat is suited for residential installations where multi-stage heating and cooling, combined with whole-house IAQ integration, is required. When paired with an AprilAire whole-house air purifier, the Event-Based Air Cleaning feature enables on-demand air cleaning cycles triggered through the thermostat. Remote monitoring and control are available via the AprilAire Healthy Air App on iOS and Android. Voice control is supported through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant integrations. The color display and menu-style navigation simplify commissioning and end-user operation.
