Overview

The RHOMAR pro-tek 922 is a liquid corrosion and scale inhibitor formulated for closed-loop hydronic and hot-water heating systems. It protects copper, brass, aluminum, and steel from corrosion while controlling scale formation that reduces heat transfer efficiency. The inhibitor helps maintain system pH within an acceptable operating range and is safe for use with standard PEX, PEX-Al-PEX, and rubber tubing. It does not contain nitrite, making it a cleaner option for systems where nitrite-free chemistry is required. Licensed HVAC technicians and plumbers working on boiler-based heating systems are the primary installers and service professionals for this product. pro-tek 922 is intended for hot-water, closed-loop heating systems in residential and light commercial applications. It is compatible with both inhibited and uninhibited propylene glycol and ethylene glycol mixtures, and it boosts the corrosion protection already present in pre-inhibited glycol blends. Typical applications include hydronic boiler loops, radiant floor heating circuits, and fan coil systems where copper, brass, aluminum, or steel components are present. The product is packaged in a 1-gallon container for single-system treatments or top-off service calls.
