Overview

The HTPG ph100-80 is an 80-gallon stainless steel natural gas water heater with a modulating BTU range of 35,000 to 100,000 BTU/h and a five-to-one turndown ratio. It is designed for both residential and commercial hot water systems requiring high thermal efficiency in a compact, lighter-weight tank. The unit carries an Energy Star certification and achieves up to 96% thermal efficiency, meaning nearly all of the fuel consumed goes directly toward heating water. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors are the primary installers. The stainless steel construction improves longevity and heat transfer compared to glass-lined alternatives. The ph100-80 is suited for residential and light commercial applications where high-efficiency natural gas water heating is required. It supports power vent and direct power vent configurations using standard PVC or CPVC vent pipe, keeping installation material costs low. The unit ships with an intake PVC tee with screens and an exhaust PVC coupling with screens. An LP conversion kit is included for natural gas models if a propane conversion is needed on site. The modulating burner maintains high system efficiency even during low-demand periods, making it a practical choice for variable-load installations.
