Overview
The COOPER BUSSMANN BP/FRN-R-20ID is a 20-amp, 250-volt indicating, dual-element, time-delay fuse rated Class RK5 and sold in a 2-pack. It is a current-limiting fuse designed for AC power distribution systems in commercial and industrial electrical installations. The dual-element, time-delay design tolerates harmless motor-starting inrush currents while still opening quickly on sustained overloads or short circuits. The indicating feature is a built-in visual aid: the fuse label darkens permanently when the fuse has opened, allowing an electrician to identify a blown fuse quickly without a meter. Licensed electricians and maintenance technicians are the primary installers of this component. This fuse is suitable for a broad range of AC electrical applications. Typical uses include AC power distribution system mains, feeders, and branch circuits; motor and motor branch circuit protection; transformers and other inductive loads; and lighting and heating circuits along with other non-inductive loads. The Class RK5 current-limiting rating makes it a recognized type under UL standards for fused protection in panelboards, fusible disconnects, and motor-control equipment. It ships carded in a retail-style 2-pack package, making it practical for field stock and service calls.
